the wedding reception

These are pictures from the reception.

We had the reception at Cafe Laguna in The Garden by Ayala Center. Nice place.  They serve Philippine cuisine and they do a great job of it.  I ordered a side of diniguan for my table.  I really like diniguan though some people aren't very fond of it.  My mother always keeps harping about cholesterol when I order it but I don't order it very often.  It's made up of all those nasty things in a pig that people normally throw away but I love it.  The alcoholic beverages in one of the pictures was purchased by my Dad with the exception of the Korean wine bought bu Nancy and Sara and the bottle of Glenmorangie that Simone and I bought at duty-free in Incheon. We each had a bit of it and then then forgot the bottle later on when I collected things from my Dad.  I tried to get it later but my Dad said "You came by and let you take anything you wanted and you missed the scotch."

Starting the buffet

Fair game; we did take a bottle of tequila that we let leak out (nearly the whole liter! For shame!).  Dad has taken the booze for the Jagna Town Fiesta on september 29th.  I told my Uncle Dodong to get a fair amount of it in his system when he goes back for Fiesta.

We had Green Mango salad, Sweet and Sour Lapu-Lapu, Chicken Rellenos, Fresh Lumpia, Beef Caldereta, Pancit Bihon, Leche Flan and an Ube-something that we cannot remember.

It's another Filipino tradition

For all the single women to take a ribbon from the cake at the end of the evening. Each ribbon contains a fortune - the girl who gets the ring will be the next to marry, the one who gets the thimble is doomed to become an old maid!

Lucky Cristy got the ring... :)
